Safety film is applied to glass to prevent the glass from shattering when it breaks. There’s nothing worse than having to clean up the mess after a pane has either shattered into 1000 pieces or else breaks into larger dangerous spiked pieces of glass. With a security film, this worry is completely gone. This can be used on anywhere you have glass, from protecting your home patio doors, large shopfront window to even a small glass table in your living room if you have young kids or pet prone to bumping into things.

We have a number of different film thicknesses that provide a different amount of strength. Even with the base 100-micron film, it still adds an 80% increase in strength to your window, this would withstand impacts from stones, bricks or even from the kids outside when a stray football hits your window!

Security film also adds increased security for your home or business. With our films being applied tight to the window frame, this considerably strengthens your window, making it much more difficult for an intruder gaining entry to your property. All of our films are totally clear, so an intruder wouldn’t even know your home is protected until it’s too late and they’ve made a lot of noise trying to get in. This is compared to the old-style ways of keeping people out, like shutters or prison-like window bars. All of our safety window films meet the current building regulations and health and safety legislation throughout the UK. The 100-micron film meets the approved standards BS6262, BS 6202, EN12600, as well as being able to enhance and upgrade any glass to Regulation 14, which is now the new standard set to protect anyone in a school, workplace or even within your own home.

Deans Shades & Graphics supply and install a range of Blast protection films which will reduce the risk of flying glass should an explosion occur, either by accidental or terrorist means.

All our bomb-blast window film is retro-fisted to existing glazing without the need for costly downtime to your working environment, they are MOD and ISO 16933 tested and approved. Once installed the forces required to break the glass are increased, therefore increasing the protection to your employees and property.

Once you install any of our range of blast protection window films, it is fully warrantied against the installation and also the window film, the length of the warranty will be dependent on the film type.

Edge Retention & Glass Containment Systems

Our edge retention systems have been designed to enhance our range of security window films to give better protection with regards to security and protection. They are retrofitted and can be colour coated to suit your existing window frame. They have in addition to the MOD testing been tested and approved by the Glass & Glazing Federation for use in overhead glazing in the event of a failure of the glass wither by nickel Sulphur failure or accidental breakage. Once installed along with our blast protection window film should in the event of an explosion, accidental breakage or even `smash and grab` crime hold the glass fragments together and all with the frame.

This becomes a common feature within large commercial building and properties with glazed roofs. For example, most modern shopping centres in the UK have glass roofs. However, we provide up to a 10-year warranty on all of our edge retention systems, which is far more cost-effective than replacing every pane of glass in your ceiling!
